Incredible door step skiing experience for pupils
The ski area delivers the ultimate summit-to-base ski run in the Alps. Slopes for all levels and tastes, lifts that reach over 3,000 meters of altitude and a vertical drop of 1,800 meters. The resort is a classic venue on the Alpine Ski World Cup since 1985. The main slope, the Stelvio, annually hosts the World Cup downhill and in 2026 it will be the official venue of the Winter Olympics.
Getting there: 40 Priestlands students and 6 Priestlands Staff
- Travel by coach
- You will need food/money for journey there and back
- Estimated 24 hour journey / bring a pillow
- There will be pizza available to buy at school so children will need to buy a later tea, if required and breakfast
- Eurotunnel crossing
- Regular stops, (every 4 hours)
- You will need to save money for lunch on the return journey on Saturday

Among the hotels situated right on the ski pistes in Bormio, Hotel Girasole 2000 definitely boasts a truly enviable location.
Let yourselves be enthralled by the spectacular view of the entire Skiing Area! Our 3-star hotel is situated in the Bormio 2000 district, right on the ski pistes and halfway up the cable car route that from the town arrives up to Bormio 3000.
The Valtellina cuisine is one of the most appreciated within the Alps area and it certainly represents added value for those who are planning their next skiing holiday.
Large en-suite rooms with 2-6 people in each room.
Food:
- Breakfast, lunch and evening meal provided (food is good and plenty)
- Vegetarian option is available
- Rule “no eat – no ski”
- May want to take snacks
- There will be the chance to go to a shop in Bormio

From January there will be weekly Ski Fit sessions after school.
Attendance is vital to ensure you can build up stamina for 5 hours of skiing every day!
